Mr. Tan Kuan Thim has close to 2 decades of commercial finance experiences coupled with periods of business advisory and other consultancy roles such as financial and HR-related programs. As a qualified Accountant with diverse exposures to various industries and corporate settings in his numerous roles, they have enabled him to tackle issues by applying cross-sectorial methodologies in resolving issues and achieving results towards goal congruence for organizations.
Kuan Thim adopts a consultative approach which he can help shape a plan that balances between achieving business needs, financial capabilities as well as risks and compliance; whilst maintaining professionalism, independence and integrity.
Before this role, Kuan Thim held various senior finance leadership positions including being CFOs for two SGX Mainboard-listed companies where he was responsible for all strategic risk management, regulatory compliance, corporate governance as well as regulatory and management reporting. He also liaised with various stakeholders and was a member of its investor relations in his prior role, in which he directly addressed shareholders’ concerns and queries at AGMs on behalf of the Board.
Prior to that, Kuan Thim was the Regional CFO with the 3rd largest Global Travel Management Company for almost 5 years. He worked across 17 different countries in the Asia Pacific region and partner with cross-functional business leaders throughout the globe. In his earlier roles, Kuan Thim was also the Deputy Group CFO and Financial Controller for mid-large sized SMEs in the gaming and heavy industrial equipment respectively. These companies too have businesses presence through subsidiaries and representative offices in the ASEAN countries.
Kuan Thim holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accountancy (Honours) degree from Oxford Brookes University, UK. He is a Chartered Valuer & Appraiser (CVA), Fellow Member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (FCA, Singapore), a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
